Movie Review: Disney's Alexander… the Great

Having a membership with theCityMoms really has its perks. One of our moms said this to me a few months ago and it got stuck in my head  - she was talking about our private support forum where our moms connect with each other offline in the days between physical meet ups  - but when an email from Disney reps crossed my desk offering our moms a free screening of the upcoming film Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Day{remember that iconic book?!}, it crossed my mind again. Membership does have its perks!
It was a gorgeous Saturday morning in Indiana so needless to say all 25 CityMoms family members sitting outside the AMC Castleton Square 14 Theatres were questioning their decision to sit in a dark movie theater.

" The girls loved it! {And so did we.} especially the kangaroos. Hope they weren't yelling with excitement too loudly!"  - CityMom Angelina
What began as that telltale screenwriting 'let's pretend the power of a wish can actually change the future' transformed into a solid 81 minutes of sheer giggles.

It starred kangaroos, bad drivers,  accidental fires, Dick Van Dyke and a tinge of inappropriate jokes but in all,Disney's Alexander movie demonstrated that even the worst days aren't a match for a loving and supportive family: A lesson all of us can benefit from.

In short, this movie is worth a viewing. Just keep in mind its PG rating may not make it suitable for kiddos under 5.

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Day is based on the storied book by Judith Viorist. It stars Steve Carrell, Jennifer Garner, Bella Thorne and Kerris Dorsey. But hey, we're no movie experts. Instead, read all about it over at  This movie opens in theaters on Friday, October 10th.

Thank you to Disney's production reps for contacting theCityMoms and arranging this fun outing!
